OUR HOME AT THE DUKE ON 42nd STREET

After ten years of hard work and steady growth, NPT is celebrating as much of a renaissance as Times Square itself. We look forward to welcoming all New York to many seasons at The Duke on 42nd Street.

Built and operated by The New 42nd Street and named in recognition of a generous grant from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, The Duke on 42nd Street is a flexible, 199-seat, black-box theatre available for rental to local, national and international performing arts companies. NTP's production of "The In-Gathering" was the first show presented in the Duke Theartre. Since its opening in June 2000, the Duke Theatre has become home to a broad spectrum of work including: The 92nd Street Y's Harkness Dance Project, Dance Theatre Workshop, The International Hispanic Theatre Festival, Marc Salem's Mindgames, Too!, The NYC Tap Festival, and of course, the New Professional Theatre. The Duke on 42nd Street was built as part of the state-of-the-art New 42nd Street Studios and is located on the building's second floor at 229 West 42nd Street, between 7th and 8th Avenues.

In addition to the theatre, we also have our offices and much-needed studio space at the same address -- the $28.8 million New 42nd Street Studios, 229 West 42nd Street.

We're becoming a proud and busy part of one of the biggest cultural and economic coups New York City has ever seen. Join us.
